JOURNALISM

Press, radio, television … I have been very fortunate to work as a journalist in the three media. Many times I’ve been asked to choose between one or the other as a communication vehicle but, with my heart, I cannot say it. It is like requesting somebody to choose between the father or the mother. The important thing is to inform correctly, knowing how to take advantage of the tools of each media and make it with good professional and personal values. In this sense, it was an honor for me to be a member of the Journalists Association of Catalonia for four years, of which I have been a member since 1987 and that always works to defend the dignity of journalism.

At this point, I would like to share thought: it is more and more difficult to separate between informants and recipients of the information. Everyone is a potential journalist. In fact, we all make Internet, putting information everywhere, often without using any filter.

This 21st century we are living in, like never before, in the middle of a strong debate about freedom of expression and unconsciousness. And sometimes we forget that journalism is a profession of great social responsibility that, far from integrity, becomes gossip and, in the worst case, connivance with those who do not take care of our society.
